Hanson Conservation Commission Issues Bridge Order of Conditions, Clears Pratt Street Project

HANSON — November 19, 2025 — Hanson Conservation Commission cleared the Pratt Street bridge replacement for bidding, approving an order of conditions at its November 19 meeting. The commission, meeting with a quorum of three members under Chair Thomas F. Brophy Jr., attached five special conditions requiring the project engineer and contractor to satisfy the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers General Permit NAE-2022-02649, address a July 2025 Division of Marine Fisheries letter, meet Hanson Fire Department turning-radius requirements, and resolve all MassDOT comments from September 2025. The town is targeting a mid-December bid advertisement, with contractor selection expected in early 2026 and construction in summer 2026 during low-flow conditions. The commission also issued a Negative 3 Determination allowing a Title 5 perk test at 0 Adam Circle over flooding objections from two abutters who warned the lot has failed to perk at least four times in 26 years, accepted a wetlands delineation at 808 West Washington Street, and approved a $127,917 operating budget — lower than the prior year's request.
