Conservation · Meeting of September 2, 2026
Hanson conservation panel ratifies enforcement order over illegal lakeside foundation. Conservation Agent Frank Skellinger told the board he issued the order August 27 after finding an unpermitted foundation excavated at 269 Lakeside Road, then returned the next day to find a crew "pouring cement" despite being told to stop. A notice-of-intent hearing on the after-the-fact filing, with fees doubled, is set for October 7.
Members discussed daily tickets if work continues. Separately, the board unanimously issued a negative determination allowing Massachusetts Electric Company, doing business as National Grid, to replace roughly 200 utility poles along Elm Street over about 20 weeks starting after November 1, and approved a $20,000 Community Preservation Act article for a Monponsett Reserve-area survey after catching a typo in the draft figure.
