Hanson Conservation Commission Approves Six Projects, Names Conservation Area at April Meeting

HANSON — April 2, 2025 — Hanson Conservation Commission approved projects at six properties and named a conservation area at its April 2 meeting. The board, chaired by Thomas Roofy and operating with all five members, issued variances and negative determinations or orders of conditions covering a Cumberland Farms septic repair at 2 Main Street, a new single-family home 15 feet farther from Long Pond at 321 Lakeside Road, septic testing and a future upgrade at 102 Leon Court, a five-bedroom septic system upgrade at 387 Woodbine Avenue, an in-ground pool with a required mitigation planting plan at 64 Tavern Way, and removal of five hazard trees at 89 Holly Ridge Drive — all conditioned in whole or in part on Board of Health approval or additional plan submittals. The commission also voted unanimously to name the newly completed Lakeside Road trail area the Philip Clement Conservation Area after learning the project finished at $6,474.79, more than $5,100 below its $11,617 estimate. A Notice of Intent for 86 Woodbine Avenue was continued to April 16 while the applicants resolve a Zoning Board of Appeals backyard-setback dispute and secure a new engineer.
