Hanson Board of Health orders enforcement against four unpermitted food establishments
HANSON — September 16, 2025 — Hanson Board of Health votes to enforce food permits against four establishments operating two months out of compliance. The board, meeting September 16 at Hanson Town Hall, unanimously directed health agent Gil to hand-deliver enforcement notices to the Rod and Gun Club, the American Legion, Cumberland Farms, and Mike's House of Pizza — all of which have failed to renew permits that expired July 1. Board members called email reminders insufficient, saying "it's clear they're either not receiving the emails or they're clearly just not taking them seriously." The board also unanimously reclassified public health nurse Kim Bombardier from contract to town employee status so she could be issued a town-owned laptop and phone, and approved a bedroom addition at 27 Woodbine Avenue contingent on Conservation Commission approval and removal of an office room that would have pushed the home above its deed-restricted three-bedroom limit. The transfer station contract bid opens September 24, with submissions due October 9 at 11 a.m.
