Hanson Board of Health Advances Food-Inspection Improvement Plan, Defers Final Signing

HANSON — December 16, 2025 — Hanson Board of Health moves toward formal adoption of a food-inspection improvement plan after a year of backlogged inspections. Board member Peter Butler presented the draft plan at the December 16 meeting, setting a target of 100 completed inspections across approximately 50 licensed establishments by the end of 2026 — two per facility — with a required pace of 10 inspections per month. As of the meeting, Health Agent Gil had completed nine of 16 overdue 2025 inspections since November, leaving seven outstanding with a reach goal of finishing all by December 31. The plan includes corrective-action language warning that failure to meet targets by June 2026 "may result in further personnel action up to and including formal disciplinary action." Gil asked for additional time to review the document before signing; the board placed final adoption on the January 13, 2026 agenda. The board also unanimously approved a septic-repair plan for 450 Whitman Street, and board member Kevin Perkins disclosed a personal property purchase at 733 Mount Ponset Street requiring a Title 5 septic repair.
