Hanson Board of Health Tables Gray Lane Septic Plan, Cites Missing Survey Stamp

HANSON — February 10, 2026 — Hanson Board of Health approves one septic plan but tables a second over a missing surveyor's stamp. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a leaching-field replacement at 55 Leon Court, pending Conservation Commission sign-off, a recorded deed restriction, and a current operation-and-maintenance agreement. A second plan, for a geomat-style septic repair at 273 Gray Lane, was tabled unanimously until the March 17 meeting after the board's health agent argued that topographic data on the design had been copied from a 1998 as-built drawing prepared by a different firm, with no registered land surveyor's stamp on the current plan. "From 1998 to now, I can guarantee you something's changed — we're talking 28 years," the agent said. The board also debated formalizing its longstanding practice of releasing certificates of compliance only to permit-holding installers, after a resident sought a COC directly for tax-deduction purposes; that item was continued to March 17 with no vote taken.
