Hanson Select Board finalizes October 5 town meeting warrant and fills three Council on Elder Affairs vacancies. The board unanimously appointed Roland Hansen as alternate member and Madeline Cannon as member, after Robin Basqua moved up to replace the ill June Sullivan. Members also voted to hire Jay Murray, who called herself "a busy bee," to a newly combined zoning and planning board administrative assistant post starting September 30.
The Finance Committee recommended Article 13's Camp Kiwani cameras 4-0 but declined six other articles, including a $25,500 subdivision-regulation update and a $20,000 Monponsett Reserve survey. Town Administrator Green said $76,664 in free cash is sought to finally repave the Whitman-Hanson Regional High School staff lot, distinct from a 2022 article that paved only the access road. Green also reported brown water at Town Hall tied to the building's fire line, with a sprinkler flush planned, and a National Grid outage set for October 7 on four streets.
