Hanson Board of Health Approves Body Art Permits for Two Tattoo Studios

HANSON — January 14, 2025 — Hanson Board of Health clears eight body art permits and tables transfer station fee increase. The board unanimously approved renewed establishment and practitioner permits for Sinners and Saints at 1,000 Main Street and Ink Garden at 500 Liberty Street at its January 14 meeting, while also approving new permits for apprentice Christopher Susi and practitioners Michaela Capil — pending written proof of 24 months of apprenticeship — and Stephanie Medina Pena. A planned increase to the transfer station's annual sticker fee, currently $65, was tabled after members could not confirm whether the working model called for a rise to $75 or $80 for fiscal year 2026. Health Agent Gil Amado reported the town's Recycling Dividends Program grant was cut in half from $12,600 to $6,300, attributing the drop to transfer station utilization falling below the 2,000-household threshold. The board also directed staff to send a formal noncompliance letter to the owner of the Boston Barber Shop property, whose new septic system has not received a certificate of compliance.
