Hanson Planning Board Backs Eight-Lot East Washington Street Subdivision Sketch

HANSON — December 8, 2025 — Hanson Planning Board reviews first new subdivision sketch in years at December 8 meeting. Gary Rice of L Planning presented an eight-lot preliminary subdivision sketch for 248 East Washington Street on behalf of Egan Development, with all lots having passed percolation testing and the project potentially expanding to nine lots pending a deal with abutting landowner Grabowski. Town Planner Tony Amico flagged that Hanson Middle School has only one egress point, prompting Rice to say he was "not opposed" to providing a gated emergency-access easement off the rear of lot six. The board also heard that consultant VHB is exploring a two-story, 20,000-square-foot design for the town-owned 212 Industrial Boulevard parcel — funded through a MassDevelopment one-stop grant — after MassDevelopment signaled the originally proposed 10,000-square-foot building was too small. The board approved a $8,162.73 Verdantis invoice for peer review work at Metobrook Farms and voted unanimously to adopt its full 2026 meeting calendar.
